Galle Fort : Galle

Undoubtedly the most iconic structure of our sunny south, the Galle Fort is a 17th century UNESCO World Heritage Site that effortlessly blends history with the modern-age. While its colonial ramparts stand tall above the Indian Ocean, its interior is lined with cobblestone streets filled with quaint boutiques and restaurants that also make for wonderful walking tours.

Galle also famous for natural harbor and this is one of the best preserved South Asia’s sea fort. Dutch used this peninsula for creating amazing sea fort with high safe. Then England also developed this fort in a considerable amount. Walking through the ramparts and stone walls of the Galle Fort make exudes colonial era. There are timber or masonry pillars still remaining by presenting a great history since centuries. Inside of the Galle fort, there are many museums to grab more knowledge about the past history. Galle National Museum was a barracks for the Dutch East India Company (VOC).

There are many exhibits things which go to Dutch period. Not even that Manson house museum is one of a private museum located in Galle. National Maritime Museum where exhibit shipwrecks parts found. Also, Galle fort is one of a great location for Honeymoon or having great holidays
